Sized across a full toddler-to-big-kid range, these STELLE ballet shoes cover Toddler 5M through Big Kid 3M. The guidance is straightforward: children under five generally fall in the Toddler 5M to Toddler 10M band, while ages five to ten usually land between Little Kid 11M and Big Kid 3M. Boys should move up one size. Measuring foot length against the size chart shown in the product images gives the closest match.

The upper is breathable PU, and the sole is suede leather that resists abrasion while giving grip on the floor. Cotton lining sits inside, light and soft against the foot. Two closure styles are offered: a plain version with no drawstring, which small beginners can pull on and off without help, and a version with a bar-tacked elastic drawstring and elastic strap for adjusting the fit.

  • Suited to ballet practice, gymnastics, yoga, modern dance and stage performance. Wipe the PU upper clean with a damp cloth.

When fitting these shoes for the first time, check that roughly half an inch of space sits between the longest toe and the end of the shoe, since too snug a fit can restrict movement during repetitive barre or floor work. The suede sole will feel stiffer at first and should loosen naturally after a few sessions as the leather conforms to the shape of the foot. To extend the life of the sole, avoid wearing the shoes on rough surfaces outside the studio or practice space, as suede scuffs and thins quickly on concrete or pavement. Store them flat in a breathable bag rather than crammed into a dance bag, which can cause the sole to crease or the upper to lose its shape over time.

When comparing ballet slippers of this type, the key distinctions to look for are sole coverage and split versus full sole construction. A full sole like this one gives younger dancers more floor feedback and is generally preferred for beginners still developing arch awareness. The two closure options here serve different stages of development: the pull-on style works well for very young children in parent-assisted classes, while the drawstring and elastic strap version suits older children who need a more secure, customized fit during longer or more active sessions.
